3Dconnexion@campus educational initiative
3D mouse manufacturer offers special pricing package for educational and research institutions and supports school and college students and competitions. "To strengthen training and give young people access to professional equipment". This is how 3Dconnexion summarizes the aims of its educational initiative in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, "3Dconnexion@Campus".
As a manufacturer of 3D mice for professional 3D applications we are setting out in our program a sales and price structure for MCAD-focused educational and research institutions, as well as the company's broader commitment to supporting high school and college students and student competitions by providing 3D mice.
"A good training program should not only teach, early on, how to work with professional 3D CAD software, but also with the relevant tools such as a 3D mouse. With a 3D mouse, high school and college students can operate even more effectively with CAD software. They also develop a better spatial awareness and and therefore a better understanding of their constructions", says Jens Mendler, Sales Manager - Education for 3Dconnexion. "So far we have given more than 200 educational and research institutions access to a new dimension of 3D navigation. Our goal is for our 3D mice to be used everywhere, so that as many trainees as possible can utilize the benefits of the devices, and be optimally prepared for their later career."
As well as an attractive price structure, our 3Dconnexion@Campus initiative includes support for innovative projects around the world. For example, the company supported Formula Student Germany 2009, where it supplied six teams with 3D mice. Similarly, as part of the youth technology initiative "JeT - Jugend entdeckt Technik", the company also provided devices for the Panasonic Racing team, which won the construction prize at the German Championship in Hanover. And at this year's Worldskills (the former Skill Olympics) competition in Calgary, 3Dconnexion supplied teams from Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, competing in the CAD mechanical design competition, with SpacePilot PRO 3D mice. "Providing individual advice to educational institutions is central to our sales service", explains Jen Mendler. "In the end, it's all about producing competent students, who have given themselves a competitive advantage by using the most up to date working tools during their training."
Through the 3Dconnexion@Campus initiative, educational and research institutions such as universities, colleges, technical institutes and professional training schools can purchase the complete range of 3D mice at special rates.
